ABOUT COASTAL IMPACT

Coastal Impact was established as an NGO by the sole trustee - Venkatesh Charloo - in October, 2009 for the specific purpose of Marine Education, Conservation and Research. He is an ardent conservationist and a professional diving instructor cum dive-center owner along with his wife - Karen Gregory who is also a diving instructor and Manager of the Trust.

The purpose of setting up the NGO is to assist scientists, other NGOs, government research organizations and facilities in conducting surveys and any other forms of underwater research which will assist in conservation of the marine environment. In particular, the long term goal is to specialize in specific projects such as satellite telemetry tracking of mammals and sharks, transplanting and regeneration of corals, fish surveys, etc, which require the expertise of scuba diving.
